Dove Kent is a prominent Jewish-American strategist, organizer, and educator. She formerly served as the Executive Director of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ) in New York and is currently the Senior Strategy Officer at Bend the Arc.
During her tenure at JFREJ, Kent successfully transformed the organization into one of New York City’s most influential political forces, advancing reforms in police accountability, immigrant rights, and anti-discrimination legislation. She is renowned for her research on the link between antisemitism and white supremacy, working to teach progressive movements how to identify and resist the political logic that uses Jews as scapegoats. The core of her work lies in building cross-racial and cross-class solidarity, maintaining that Jewish safety is inextricably linked to the liberation of all oppressed groups.
Kent’s stance emphasizes “solidarity as safety.” She resolutely opposes the stigmatization of the anti-occupation movement as antisemitic, arguing that true Jewish safety cannot be built upon military occupation. She has stated: “When we link Jewish safety to the dispossession of others, we are playing with fire. Supporting the dignity and rights of Palestinians is not only a demand of justice but a necessary step to dismantle the oppressive systems that threaten us all.” She actively participates in joint actions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and works to build a new narrative within the Jewish community that supports the self-determination of all peoples.
