Audrey Sasson is the Executive Director of Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ). With an extensive background in community organizing and policy advocacy, she leads the organization’s efforts to address systemic challenges in New York City regarding labor rights and economic equity.
Under Sasson’s leadership, JFREJ’s political influence has grown significantly, successfully advancing landmark legislation such as the “Fair Pay for Home Care” campaign. She excels at translating complex economic policies into actionable grassroots campaigns and has successfully expanded JFREJ’s membership, making it a formidable force within New York’s progressive coalitions.
Sasson is a prominent leader within the New York Jewish community calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to military aid to Israel. She has organized and participated in numerous rallies protesting occupation policies, firmly believing that the Jewish future is intertwined with Palestinian liberation. One of her most powerful statements is: “We refuse to accept the logic of ‘safety’ at the expense of others’ lives; as New Yorkers, we must ensure our resources and our name are no longer used to support atrocities.”
