Eyal Weizman

He is a British-Israeli architect, Professor of Spatial and Visual Cultures, and founder of Forensic Architecture (FA) at Goldsmiths, University of London.

He pioneered “Spatial Forensics,” using architectural modeling and digital mapping to investigate state crimes and human rights violations. His landmark book Hollow Land: Israel’s Architecture of Occupation is a foundational text on how urban design is used as a tool of military control in the West Bank.

Weizman sat on the board of the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem in Jerusalem. And he is currently on the advisory boards of the Human Rights Project at Bard College in New York As a prominent anti-Zionist voice, Weizman and FA have provided crucial evidence for international legal cases, including South Africa’s case against Israel at the ICJ in 2024-2026. He views architecture not just as buildings, but as a “laboratory” of colonial control and resistance.
