Maurice Jacobson is an American Jewish documentary photographer, filmmaker, and human rights activist. Based in New York, his work focuses on visual storytelling, anti-war organizing, and documenting the impact of military occupation in the Palestinian territories.
Jacobson spent nearly two years living and working in Gaza, establishing collaborative network with local artists, journalists, and youth initiatives, including the writing project We Are Not Numbers. Through his production initiative, Inshallah Media Productions, he developed the multi-media exhibition and documentary project “We All Live in Gaza,” which documents the daily impacts of the blockade, military checkpoints, home demolitions, and the border wall on civilian life. Jacobson regularly organizes screenings, lectures, and exhibitions in university campuses, art galleries, and community centers across North America to exhibit works created by artists in Gaza.
As a non-Zionist Jewish activist, Jacobson advocates for Palestinian self-determination, opposes identifying Jewish identity with Israeli state policies, and works to challenge political claims that criticism of military governance or settlement expansion constitutes antisemitism.
