Mike Simons is a veteran British Jewish journalist, editor, and revolutionary socialist activist. He is a key member of the Jewish Network for Palestine (JNP) and has long been active in British socialist movements.
Simons has had a distinguished career in journalism, serving for many years as a senior journalist and editor for the Socialist Worker in the UK. He is known for his sharp investigative reporting, having covered historic class struggles such as the UK miners’ strike. As a prolific writer, he has co-authored several books on the history of labor movements and anti-fascist struggles. His career demonstrates that journalism can serve as a weapon for social change, rather than merely a record of facts.
He resolutely opposes the conflation of Jewish identity with Zionism, viewing Zionism as an integral part of the global capitalist and imperialist system. Between 2023 and 2026, as an active member of the JNP, he has steadfastly defended the rights of pro-Palestine activists within the UK Labour Party and trade union movements. He publicly challenges the mainstream narrative’s manipulation of “antisemitism,” arguing that it is designed to silence support for Palestinian liberation through intimidation. He actively promotes internationalism within the working class, calling for global grassroots mobilization to end the occupation of Palestine.
